Mengawali hari pertama masuk sekolah setelah libur panjang ramadan, seluruh siswa-siswi mengikuti apel pagi yang disampaikan langsung oleh Kep. Madrasah, H. Ali Musyafa’, M.Pd.I, 27 Juli 2015. Pada kesempatan yang fitri itu, H. Ali Musyafa’, M.Pd.I mengajak kepada seluruh elemen MTsN1 Kudus untuk lebih semangat.
Beliau menambahkan, khusus kepada seluruh siswa baru harus benar-benar bersyukur karena telah diterima sebagai siswa dari 1200 lebih pendaftar di MTsN 1 Kudus. Syukur itu harus diwujudkan dengan belajar dengan baik. Jika tidak ada yang tidak belajar dengan baik, maka MTsN 1 Kudus tidak segan-segan untuk mengeluarkan siswa ataupun siswi tersebut.
Pada hari pertama itu juga, siswa baru kelas VII dari A-H mengawali sekolah dengan MOPD (Masa Orientasi Siswa Baru). Selama tiga hari (27-29 Juli 2015) 380 siswa baru mengikuti MOPD. Waka kesiswaan MTsN 1 Kudus, Eko Sudarmanto, M.Pd mengatakan bahwa MOPD ini adalah dalam rangka mengenalkan lingkungan madrasah, baik itu hak ataupun kewajiban yang harus ditetapi seluruh siswa baru.
Eko Sudarmanto, M.Pd menambahkan tiga hari ini tidak ada perploncoan (bulling). MTsN 1 Kudus tidak mengenal hal itu. Tiga hari MOPD dimanfaatkan untuk benar-benar membina pembelajaran siswa-siswi baru MTsN 1 Kudus.
